§01
Getting Started
- What is Quorate?
- Quorate is a UK governance and meeting-management platform. It handles the meeting lifecycle — agenda, pack, live meeting, minutes, decisions and actions — with compliance tooling for each sector, such as the AGAR assertions for councils and regulator returns for housing providers.
- Who is Quorate for?
- Any organisation that runs formal meetings: parish and town councils, school governing bodies and academy trusts, charities, housing associations, sports clubs, churches and companies with boards. 86 organisation types across 9 sectors are supported, each with its own terminology and templates.
- How do I get started?
- Start a free 30-day trial at quorate.app/register. No card is required. Pick your organisation type and the setup wizard walks you through your details, branding, governance documents, modules and inviting members. Default committees are created for your organisation type.
- How long does setup take?
- The setup wizard covers the essentials in one sitting, and you can create your first meeting straight away. Importing members from CSV and uploading past papers can follow when you are ready.
§02
Features
- What features are included?
- Everything is on the one Quorate plan: agendas, meeting packs, live meetings, draft minutes, action tracking, documents, a member portal, a public portal, compliance tooling, financial governance, and single sign-on. API and webhooks are available on request and enabled per organisation. Local-government organisations can add the Govern upgrade for principal-authority functions.
- Can I generate meeting packs automatically?
- Yes. Attach documents to agenda items, set page ranges and rotation, and Quorate generates a single PDF pack with a cover sheet, contents and page numbers. A public version that leaves out Part 2 items is built alongside the full pack.
- Does Quorate handle live meetings?
- Yes. Live meeting mode records attendance (including remote attendance), quorum, motions, amendments, votes, declarations of interest and speakers, and the move into and out of Part 2. Draft minutes are generated from that record.
- What compliance frameworks are supported?
- The frameworks that apply to each organisation type. The AGAR Section 1 assertions are for parish, town and Welsh community councils and drainage boards; the Transparency Code is for parish and Welsh community councils; Regulator of Social Housing return exports and Tenant Satisfaction Measures are for registered housing providers; charities get serious-incident and annual-return deadline tracking; companies get filing-deadline tracking, written resolutions and statutory registers; CICs get community-interest-report deadline tracking.
- Is there a public portal?
- Yes, included. Each organisation gets a branded public portal where agendas, minutes and decisions are published. It runs on your quorate.app subdomain, or on your own domain on request.
§03
Pricing & Billing
- How much does Quorate cost?
- Quorate is one plan for every organisation, priced per organisation per year with unlimited users; the current price is on the pricing page. Local-government organisations can ask for Govern, an upgrade bought by purchase order that adds principal-authority functions, more storage and custom email settings.
- Are there any per-user charges?
- No. Quorate includes unlimited users and unlimited committees. Add every councillor, governor, trustee or committee member at no extra cost.
- Can I pay by invoice?
- Quorate is billed by card through Stripe and Govern is bought by purchase order. If your organisation needs to pay Quorate by invoice, contact us.
- Do you offer group billing?
- Yes. County associations, federations and trusts can sponsor several organisations under group billing. Contact us to set it up.
- What happens after the free trial?
- If no payment is set up when the trial ends, we send a reminder after 3 days and a final notice after 7; the subscription is cancelled after 14 days. After cancellation your data is kept for 90 days, with reminders, before it is deleted.
§04
Security & Data
- Where is my data stored?
- In AWS London (eu-west-2). The database is encrypted at rest, connections to the database require TLS, visitors connect over HTTPS, and automated daily backups are kept for 35 days with point-in-time restore.
- Do you provide a Data Processing Agreement?
- Yes. Our DPA and sub-processor list are published, and there are built-in tools for subject access requests and erasure. Contact privacy@quorate.app with data-protection questions.
- How is tenant data isolated?
- PostgreSQL row-level security filters each organisation's rows in the database itself, not only in application code.
- Can I export my data?
- Yes. Meetings, decisions, actions and members export to CSV at any time, the audit log exports, packs and documents download as files, and every user can download their own personal data.
- How are uploads protected?
- File types are validated before a document is served, and downloads of files flagged as infected or quarantined are blocked.
§05
Migration & Support
- Can I import existing data?
- Yes. Import members, budgets and your asset register from CSV templates, and upload past minutes and papers to the document library. Meetings and votes from another system are not imported automatically; keep them as documents and start the live record from your next meeting.
- What support do you offer?
- Email support and in-app support requests, and a walkthrough call if you would like one: ask at quorate.app/contact?topic=walkthrough.
- Is there training available?
- Book a walkthrough at quorate.app/contact?topic=walkthrough and we will take you through the product set up for your kind of organisation.
